We are a 501c3 dog rescue organization in Jackson County, Indiana. We rescue, rehabilitate and re-home homeless dogs in our area. We provide them a safe haven while we explore all resources in finding appropriate new homes for them. We serve our community by contracting with our local law enforcement to take in stray pets they find abandoned in the rural areas of our county. We also work to educate our community about the importance of being responsible pet owners by spaying/neutering their family pets, therefore reducing the number of abandoned pets being euthanized in shelters across America.
Since 2006 we have served our community by rescuing abandoned, neglected or surrendered pets. As of 2017, over 5,000 homeless dogs have passed through the doors of our shelter facility. We provide medical care they may need, and our volunteers spend time with each one, building confidence and trust in those who are shy or under-socialized, and giving them an opportunity to be adopted by great families looking for a devoted canine companion. We transport many homeless pets to other shelters in the Midwest and as far away as the New England states where our dogs are quickly adopted by new loving families. We have been a member of Canine Express Transport Project, a network of shelters who work together to save dogs' lives, since 2009.
Our volunteers are like family; we believe that every homeless pet we receive deserves a chance for a happy life with a loving family. We work daily to educate our community about the advantages of spaying and neutering their pets, to reduce the number of unwanted, discarded pets in shelters everywhere. We rely very heavily on the financial support of the people of our community, in order to continue our work to save lives.
